Hedi Slimane Film by admin

It seems that designers and fashionistas turning to film to broadcast their creativity is a tried and tested and often disappointingly self absorbed blot on the creative checklist. Right back from Warhol revolutionizing the idea, although often slammed and booed at the time we have seen plenty of the arty types delve into this mess hall since.

Hedi Slimane's recent effort though is thankfully, carefully and tastefully put together to give the oddly surreal and eccentricity beautiful celluloid moment that we should hasten to expect.

Another string to the bow of one of fashion's best and most groundbreaking.

Birch Studio by admin

Birch Studio are relatively young in their design careers, with their owners and pioneers having been out of uni, little under 2 years. This however is not something to be dismayed by as this a studio from two designers who seriously know their chops. There still fresh presence on the design scene has enabled them to come at projects without the repetitive and often time dismissive approach by older designers and they have quickly built up an impressive list of clients for both their professionalism and highly personable and adaptive pricing scheme.
One’s to watch in the design world so take heed quickly.

Ivy League by admin

You may have noticed of late that contemporary fashion has begun to look increasingly like a 1960’s Ivy League rom-com. Our new inclination to roll up our trouser legs and flash the socks or even the angle, the rolled up sleeves, the label less jackets and shirts and how much are we loving jumpers at the moment?
If you are interested in seeing this look in its genesis then you should check out Take Ivy by Hayashida. This formally famous and influentional book has long been out of print and the last time I checked was going for several hundreds upwards to a thousands at art auctions and luckily for us it’s just been re-printed. Get a slice of history.

Uniform Wares by admin

A streamlined minimalist sequel to the 100 series, Uniform Wares’ new range is a tight blend of classic sophistication and urban industrialism, projecting the kind of unassuming masculinity that was last seen on WWII fighter pilots.
The straps are of Italian calf leather and the casing is made from aircraft standard stainless steel- wrapped neatly around a stripped down face that wouldn’t go amiss amongst the dials of a Lancaster Bomber.
The question is not, ‘should you buy this?’ But, what colour are you going to get it in?

Rankin by admin

We love Rankin. It’s official. There aren’t many photographers in the business that impress us with such regular frequency but Rankin is the king of it.
Name any A-lister of the last ten years and beyond and Rankin has photographed them – this goes for super models too. He has ‘done’ them all and this makes us very envious indeed.
Have a web stroll over to his websites and a cheeky gander. You will be impressed.
